Defect Registration
A very important part of the Tecnical log considers defects. Defects can and have to be consulted. Existing MEL related defects will apear in the Hold Item List (HIL), Existing non MEL related defects will appear in the DDL (Deferred Defect List):
Ticking the 'view' buttons shows the items in the Lists:
Defects are entered via the 'add defect' button. A pop-up appears:
The description of the defect and the action taken are registered in the respective entry fields.
When the defect is a MEL item, some other entry fields appear to register the additional and mandatory fields:
If the defect is not MEL related, the following entry fields can be used:
The defect is registered by entering the name and the signature of the person registering and clicking the 'add defect' button:
If the flight is canceled because of the discovered defect, the flightplan doesn't have to be completed.
If the flight can proceed, the final part of the preflight actions is to register the preflight check and sign the ATL:
The ATL is registered by clicking the 'submit' button.
When the ATL registration is completed, the aircraft is ready to fly:
